Been A While!

  • So what's new? Well, been busy with work, and travelling back and forth to Toronto a fair bit. This past weekend, Geoff was up, and we took some pictures of his Celica GT, which I've yet to post. We hung out a fair bit, and played lots of UT!
  • Caught "Rock Star", starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston on Saturday night, it was entertaining, apparently based on the true story behind one of Judas Priest's lead singers. Some good, heavy, metal music. Check out the soundtrack. It rocks! Featuring vocals by Jeff Scott Soto, of the Yngwie Malmsteen band. ;) Mark Wahlberg actually performed a number of the songs in the movie, and apparently the 20,000 fans you see in the movie are from a real, live performance in L.A., of WASP, Great White, and Megadeth. Yes, the 80's are still very much alive!
  • The "billionth-second bug" managed to affect some software packages, notably the UW-IMAP c-client library (used by both their IMAP server, and Pine). Don't use it, although e-smith does. Patch is in the works.
  • There are now automated updates of virus scanning patterns on mail.enfusion-group.com. Yay!
  • Updated procmail to version 3.22 on rogue. This version actually creates mailbox files with timestamped filenames, like qmail used to. (Actually, older versions may have too, I upgraded from 3.14). Now, IMAP servers that don't actually sort their output, but rely on ASCII sorts of the filenames as a default display sorted mailboxes. Weird concept.
