What If I Were In Trista Rehn's Shoes?

  • Watching "The Bachelorette" tonight, I couldn't help but feel for Trista and the monumental decision she's about to make. I can only take comfort in the fact that she *knows* that Charlie's got all the qualities of a good husband. She knows that he's affectionate, good looking, he'll do the chores, he's decent with his money, she likes his family, and that he cooks! But then there's Ryan, who says that he used to think that you should know a person before you marry them, but why not just get married, and then treat it as a special thing? All these years, and these simple concepts have just managed to completely elude me! I've gotta admit, that my heart almost touched the floor when I saw tears rolling down Trista's face when she explained how torn she was from falling for two guys. I just can't imagine how I'd go on if I were faced with such an important and life-changing decision! I mean, after all, what's left in life after you're married to that someone special?
  • It's not like gas prices are .88c/L or $2.00/gallon depending on where you're from.
  • It's not like war is about to break out in the middle-east, or both North Korea and Iran are kickstarting their nuclear programs.
  • It's not like Osama Bin Laden has called on all those who support his cause to suicide bomb Americans and those that stand with them...
  • It's not as though our fearless neighbouring leader has to pause to buffer the next few lines of his pre-written speeches on all public broadcasts...
  • Did the space shuttle disintegrate a few weeks back?
  • Well, at least the world isn't faced with decisions as tough as Trista's.
  • If only she had the wisdom, gift and guidance of Evan Marriott from Joe Millionaire!
