- A while back, a friend of mine introduced us to Rock Star: INXS. After watching a few shows, we were hooked -- until the past few weeks shananigans. I have now officially and completely lost all respect for the voting public and for all of the members of INXS. Not to say that I know better than INXS who should be the new lead singer, but I definitely know who shouldn't be. Marty can't sing, is uncomfortable on stage, and for that matter, can't even scream well -- he consistently misses notes, has a limited range, and just plain sucks. JD, who is way too confident for someone who without a doubt made Freddie Mercury rollover in his grave while performing "We Are The Champions" also doesn't deserve to still be in the competition -- especially with the constipated moves he loves to show off. But both JD and Marty constantly receive the most votes! Then Suzie, who arguably has demonstrated that she can perform INXS tunes, has energy, is always spot-on with her vocals, gets sent home. Sorry INXS, but unless you pick MiG, you're destined to suck. Bad.
- On another note, we were lucky enough to be able to go the U2 Vertigo concert at the ACC this weekend. Good show, but not great. Either the four nights of shows tired Bono and the boys out, or they're just getting too old. They didn't seem to be into the show. Nevertheless, their music still rocks.
- I've finally decided to part with my Peavey EVH 5150 head and Marshall half-cab. I'm thinking to downsize to a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 40 watt tube amp.
